From 6 August 6 to 9 September 2021, the illustration contest "Hanoi is..." calls for young artists’ engagement to promote the title of "Ha Noi Creative City" awarded by UNESCO in 2019, with their illustration about Ha Noi. The contest is organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the UN-Habitat, and the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS), with the companionship of Vietnam Local Artist Group (VLAG).

The COVID-19 pandemic may limit our mobility, but it cannot stop the flow of creativity. The drawing contest “Hanoi is…” welcomes unique ideas from the visual artist community of various genres such as painting, illustration, design, etc. Entrants can freely express Ha Noi with their artistic lens and emotions. The jury team includes prominent artists in the painting and illustration community: Xuan Lam, Tu Na, Kawako Giang Nguyen, X.Lan and Noh-a (Cloud Pillow Studio).

Entries must meet the following requirements:

1. Eligible works must be submitted via the registration form.
2. The original file of the entry must have a resolution of 300dpi, minimum size 40cm x 40cm.
3. Entries can be drawn on drawing device or paper.
4. The picture does not include text, unless the text is part of the work
5. The introduction of the work does not include information such as advertising, news, links, other hashtags.

The total prize value of the contest is up to more than 60 million VND as follows:

1. 01 first prize: 10 million VND, 1 art print, and 1 set of postcards
2. 04 second prizes, each prize: 5 million VND, 1 art print, and 1 set of postcards
3. 01 voting prize: 2 million VND, art print, and 1 set of postcards
4. 24 feature artworks: 1 million VND, art print, and 1 set of postcards

The illustration contest ''Hanoi is...'' is a part of Ha Noi Rethink project organized by UNESCO, UN-Habitat and UNIDO with the support of SOVICO Group to support Ha Noi city to realize its vision of Creative Capital in the field of design, using cultural heritage with the engagement of Vietnamese youth who is an essential element for innovation, creativity and change.
